Leah Elizabeth Stilwell

Leah Elizabeth Stilwell, 30, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022.
 
Leah was born on November 10, 1991 in Kailua, Hawaii to Lee and Sue Stilwell.  Leah graduated from UNCW with a degree in Chemistry in 2014. She loved being a chemist and flourished within the industry of pharmaceutical manufacturing; working as a Senior Director of Business Development for Asymchem with many clients around the globe.
 
Leah was a vibrant, loving and compassionate young lady that loved and lived life to its fullest. She always displayed her beautiful smile and could make friends and connect with anyone.  Leah was very passionate about her family and friends, her work, her pets, and her hobbies.  
 
Leah was happiest when she was on the lake, riding her dirt bikes, or playing rugby (nicknamed Stiffie).  Leah mastered anything pulled behind the boat from slalom, barefoot, wakeboard, wake surf, hydrofoil, and many more. The water sport Leah thrived in the most was sit down hydrofoiling. She frequently foiled across America and even internationally, was the female world champion for many years, and secured 4 Guinness Book of World Records! Many recent summer days Leah could be found on her home lake of Mountain Island Lake enjoying her new boat that was beyond large enough to hold all of her many friends.

Leah’s zest for life and love for others radiated to all she came in contact with. She shined with such intensity each and every day!
 
Leah is survived and grieved by her mother Elizabeth Sue Stilwell, her brother David Stilwell III, her grandmother Bobbie Stilwell, her partner Mike Mead, extended family and close friends. Leah is preceded in death by her father David Lee Stilwell, Jr.
 
A celebration of life will be held on November 12, 2022 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at Pleasant Grove Farms located at 7132 Pleasant Grove Road, Charlotte, NC 28216. In lieu of flowers, donations to Angels to the Animals (Venmo: @Angels-2-Animals or PayPal: [email protected]) are appreciated.
