Zelma Jewell Brown, 96, of Concord, NC passed away on May 11, 2017. She was born on April 11, 1921 in Moore County to the late, Henry Clay Stutts and Ossie Johnson Stutts.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by, her husband, Daniel Brown.
She is survived by her son, Daniel Brown (Sandra); daughter, Karen Whitley (Jim); grandchildren, Tiffany Loiko (Stephen), Kathy Fleeman, Alan Greene (Melanie), Todd Greene; great-grandchildren, Samantha, J.T., Evelyn, and Ian.
Zelma volunteered with Christian Ministries in Denver, and was a foster parent for Mecklenburg County. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, and a prior member of Thrift United Methodist Church in Charlotte.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 15, 2017 at Salem United Methodist Church, Denver, NC. The family will receive from 1:00pm until the time of service. Following the service she will be laid to rest next to her husband at the church cemetery.
Memorial Donations may be made to Hospice of Cabarrus County or Salem United Methodist Church.
