Wilma P. Taylor, a cherished matriarch and devoted friend, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025, in Huntersville, North Carolina, at the age of 84. Born on June 6, 1940, in Mitchell County, NC, she was a pillar of strength and love throughout her life, fostering an environment where family and faith flourished.

A woman of profound faith and conviction, Wilma was a dedicated member of Northlake Assembly of God for 45 years. Her relationship with God was a guiding light in her life, and she exemplified the virtues of love, care, and compassion. Wilma's personality was characterized by her nurturing spirit as she poured her heart into being a great wife, mother, and grandmother. She was always ready to lend an ear or offer a helping hand, placing her children at the center of her universe.

Wilma's commitment to her family transformed every moment into a memory. She was actively involved in her children's lives, taking them to ball practices and games, ensuring that they felt supported and cherished throughout their upbringing. Her love extended beyond just her immediate family; she was also a beloved grandmother to her grandchildren, Aaron, Aadam, Tiffany, Logan, and Holly, who brought her immense joy and pride.

In addition to her dedication to family, Wilma had a range of interests and hobbies that highlighted her creativity and zest for life. She was an avid gardener, creating beautiful blooms that reflected her nurturing spirit. A great cook, she delighted in preparing meals for her loved ones. Her talents extended to knitting, sewing, and crocheting, where she crafted lasting gifts filled with love for those around her.

Wilma shared a beautiful life filled with adventure alongside her husband of 62 years, Tommy Taylor. Together, they enjoyed traveling and camping, creating unforgettable experiences that strengthened their bond and enriched their family’s tapestry of memories.

She is survived by her loving husband, Tommy Taylor; her sons Michael Dean Taylor and his wife Phyllis, Todd Taylor and his wife Melissa, and Tracy Eugene Taylor; and her brother Van Peterson. Wilma’s legacy continues through her grandchildren, who carry forward the love and values she instilled in them.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, Maynard and Darlisky Peterson, who instilled in her a firm foundation of strength and faith.

A visitation honoring Wilma’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC. A graveside service will follow on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Flat Branch Cemetery in Poplar, NC, where friends and family will gather to celebrate a remarkable life well-lived.

Wilma P. Taylor will forever be remembered for her unwavering love, kindness, and faith that guided her every step. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.
