William Frederick “Fred” Stallings, born March 7, 1941 in Charlotte, North Carolina, to the late Johnnie Holton Stallings and the late Excell Rozzelle Stallings, passed away at age 77 on June 8, 2018, at his home in Davidson, North Carolina.
He was a graduate of North Mecklenburg High School and the University of North Carolina. From 1962 to 1968, he served honorably in the Army National Guard. Fred was a proud Eastern Airlines employee from 1966 until liquidation, working as a computer programmer and project manager in the Charlotte and Miami headquarters.
Fred was married to his life-long love Susan for over 51 years. He is preceded by Harold Eugene “Gene” Bergh of Richmond and Tammy Willis of Richmond.
He is survived by his sons, Stephen Sean Stallings (Sarah) of Pittsburgh and Jason Saywell Stallings (Jennifer) of Davidson; brother, Michael Holton Stallings of Huntersville; sister, Joyce Stallings Bergh of Fripp Island; five grandchildren, Christopher, Tyler, Sawyer, Henry, and Julianne; niece, Kim Stroud (Eddie) of Columbia; and nephew, Harold Eugene “Chip” Bergh (Carrie) of Richmond. Fred loved science, watching his beloved Tar Heels, and being with his family.
Friends and family members may attend the visitation on Saturday, June 16 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, 16901 Old Statesville Road, Huntersville, North Carolina, 28078, following which there will be a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Raymer-Kepner and an inurnment at Independence Hill Baptist Church.
