William Hinton Shy

Mr. William Hinton Shy. 85, of Franklin TN formerly of Mooresville, NC died May 17, 2012. Born August 18, 1926 in Athens Georgia he was the son of the late Hinton Bowden Shy and Lizzie Orr Hipkins Shy. He was a veteran of the US Navy, member of Phi Beta Kappa while in college, began is career with Florida Power and Light and was employed in Marketing at Kimberly-Clark for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1987. After retirement he was an instructor at colleges in several different cities until 2008 Graveside services with Military rites will be conducted 11:00 Wednesday May 23, 2012 at Mt. Zion Community Cemetery, Cornelius, NC. The family will receive friends 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to the service at the funeral home. He leaves to cherish his memory, his sons; Clayton "Clay" Shy, Daniel "Randy" Shy (Sharon) and William "Bill" Shy, Jr. and daughter Sheri(Steve) Abrams and grandchildren, Ryan & Lindsey Rosoff, Ethan, Hannah & Lexi Shy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Sarah "Sally" Muller Shy Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huntersville,NC is assisting the family.
