William Leonard Parker

William Leonard Parker, 61, of Charlotte, NC passed away on August 31, 2017.

He was born on October 5, 1955 in Brooklyn, NY to George H. and Phyllis Parker.

He is preceded in death by his mother and sister, Wendy Parker.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Parker; son, William Leonard Parker, Jr. (Youngran) ; granddaughter,  Hannah; step-daughters, Danielle T. Chandler (Miles), Michele K. Walker (Jeff) and sons; granddaughter, Madeleine Ryan Bane. He is also survived by his brother, Perry Parker (Nancy); and a niece and nephew.

William was a loving and caring father and grandfather. He had a passion for helping youth and their families. He was a graduate of S.U.N.Y. and he was a huge New York Giants and Duke Basketball fan.  He was also a part of a men’s Huddle Up Group at UCUMC. He loved sports, enjoyed to read, loved to watch basketball and tennis, and liked to travel.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at University City UMC, 3835 W. WT Harris Blvd, Charlotte, NC.
