William Ross Norwood, 73 of Charlotte, NC died November 27, 2010. He was born to William Lee and Velma Catherine Norwood in Moulton, AL, July 28, 1937. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sonja H. McPherson of Arkadelphia, AL; son, Christopher R. Norwood, wife Michelle Nelson and their daughter Eva of Key West, FL; son, Timothy W. Norwood and his daughter Hannah of Charlotte, NC; brother, Grady Griffin and wife Sue of Cullman, AL; and sister, Mary Lee Ward and husband Edward. Ross graduated Hanceville High School class of '56 and was a member of the undefeated '55 football team. He served as a medic in the Alabama National Guard and attended the University of Alabama in engineering. He was also a member of the Mason's and Zamora Shrine Temple. He was a self-made man with an unequaled work ethic. He worked at Cullman Products' among several other companies before landing at United Chair Company in Leeds, AL, as an engineer then plant manager. By 1981, he started his own company, Norwood & Associates, with family in the Carolina's and VA as contract office furniture sales representatives. Bill retired in 2004.
