William Edward Lee Krug (Bill) was born October 7, 1935 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Edward L. Krug and Sophia (Pflugmacher)Krug. His death occurred on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
Due to some health issues his parents brought Bill back to the mainland in 1938. Because his father was career Air Force, Bill was able to obtain his schooling in various schools systems throughout the United States. He graduated from Rantoul High School, Rantoul, Illinois in 1953 and shortly thereafter enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. While stationed at Lockbourne AFB (now Rickenbacher AFB) in Columbus, Ohio, he met his lifetime mate, Dolores Feeman. Upon leaving the military he engaged in several jobs, police officer in Rantoul, Illinois, right-of-way agent for the State of Ohio and Transportation foreman for the Kroger Grocery Company. A true and valued friend, Clarence Manson, was Bill’s mentor with the Kroger Company. His last endeavor in Ohio was with Roadway Express.
In 1970 he was provided an opportunity with Military Sales & Service which required moving to Raytown, Missouri. In this position he traveled throughout the central United States making sales calls to military installations. In 1985 he was transferred to Dallas, Texas, again making sales calls to the military in a new territory. In 1988 he was offered an inside position wherein traveling was no longer necessary and was able to retire in 2001.
During his retirement years he enjoyed the game of golf, riding his Harley Davidson, was active in the Homeowners Association and always enjoyed the Monday morning breakfast fest with the neighborhood men. He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Pleasant Valley Lodge.
In 2020 Bill and his wife moved from their home in Texas, leaving behind family and many friends and settled in Charlotte, North Carolina, being fortunate enough to move close to family and make new friends.
Bill leaves his daughter Lisa (Jeffrey) Metz of Troutman, N.C.; David (Laurie) Krug of Southlake, Texas, grandsons Spencer (Jodi and great grandson, Bruin) Metz of Troutman, N.C., Trevor Metz, Mooresville, N.C., Soren Krug of Denver, CO., Bergen Krug and Gunnar Krug, of Southlake, Texas, his brother, Richard (Lorraine) Krug, Plano, Texas and sister-in-law Yuki Krug of Honolulu, HI.
