William Huddleston, Jr.

William (Bill) G. Huddleston, Jr., 87, went to be with the Lord on September 4, 2018. He was born on May 5, 1931 to the late Glenn and Mary Huddleston in Charlotte, NC.

Bill is survived by his wife of 61 years, Peggy Huddleston; son Wayne Huddleston of Hickory, NC; daughter Cindy Earnhardt (Ted) of Meza, AZ; granddaughters Mary-Kathryn D. and Cari Earnhardt; sister Doris Mathis (Troy) of St. Louis, MO; brother-in-law Bobby Wilson (Sue) of Murrell’s Inlet, SC; nephews William Mathis and Mike Mathis; niece Melanie Coyne; and all of St. Louis, MO.

Bill was a 1950 graduate of Harding High School. He proudly served his country in the Korean War with the US Navy on the USS Essex.

Bill worked for IBM as a customer service engineer for 31 years.

He was a charter member of St. James and St. Marks United Methodist Churches and is currently of a member of Assurance United Methodist Church where he was a certified lay speaker.

He was a dedicated husband and father and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 1:30-2:30PM at Assurance United Methodist Church located at 9700 Mount-Holly Huntersville Rd, Huntersville, NC 28078 on Friday, September 7, 2018. The funeral service will follow at 2:30PM. Interment will follow the service at Forest Lawn West located 4601 Freedom Dr, Charlotte, NC 28208.
