William R. Dials

William R. Dials (Billy Ray) - 85, of Portsmouth ,Ohio passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014. Bill was born January 16, 1929 in Portsmouth , Ohio to the late Charles and Opal Dials. He worked for USEC as an operator, foreman and coordinator for 38 years. He retired in 1992. He served in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1952. Along with his parents, his infant sister Joyce-Coleen, his brother, Doug, Bill was preceded in death by his daughters, Theresa Dials and Ursula Pruitt, grandsons Charlie Dials, and Justin Stowers. Bill is survived by his wife, Lotte; his son Doug of Lake City, Florida; daughters Rosita (Rose) Hansen of Cornelius, North Carolina; Dagmar (DeeDee) Rolen of Roanoke, Virginia; Ingrid Stowers, of Portsmouth, Ohio; brothers Phil and David and sister, Betty Ruth Humble; grandsons, Jason, Brandon, Ryan, Joey; granddaughter, Kayla; great-grandson, Sam Gibson; great-granddaughters, Alaina Stowers, Charleigh and Ava Dials. The family will receive friends at the F.C. Daehler Mortuary, 915 Ninth Street , Portsmouth , Ohio on Friday, January 31, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
