William James (Jim) Albert, 68, of Lincolnton, NC passed away on December 1, 2019. He was born on October 8, 1951 in Harlingen, TX to Gerald William Albert Jr. & Catherine Mary Albert.
Along with his father, he is preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Anne Albert.
He is survived by his mother, Catherine Mary Tollworthy Albert of San Antonio, TX; sister, Cathy Augustsson of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Corrie Overby of Iron Station, NC; son, Craig James Albert (his wife, Kaitlin) of Ft. Benning, GA; son, Clinton Albert of Gastonia, NC; nephews, Gerald & Christopher Zigmond; Grandchildren, Austin Overby, Mary Albert, Cody Albert, Blake Whitson, Krysta Whitson, Kara Whitson, Isaiah Nichols, Rachel Nichols; Great-Grandchildren, Malynn; former wife, Judy Albert; step-sons, Lane Whitson & Larry Whitson; and former daughter-in-law, Lisa Nichols (and her husband, Tim).
Jim loved his family and never met a stranger. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Army. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, tennis & disc golf.
He was known for his generosity towards homeless veterans, providing them with food and shelter.
A visitation will be held Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home.
Burial will follow the service at 4:00 pm at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Homeless Veterans Association, Levine & Dickson Hospice House, or Second Harvest Food Bank.
