Virginia Ann "Ginny" Stout, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 30th, 2023, surrounded by her husband Robert, daughter Marilou and son-in-law Tom Martin in Huntersville, NC.
Ginny was born on December 11th, 1928, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to the late William and Gertrude Smith. She was the cherished sister of Bill and Jackie. Ginny's life was marked by enduring love, as she was married to Robert R "Popeye" "FOZ" "Paps" Stout of Millville, PA, for an incredible 65 years. Their journey of love took them from Pittsburgh, PA, to Cross Lanes, WV, to Little River, SC, and finally to Huntersville, NC.
Her professional career included working for Columbia Gas Corporation in Pittsburgh, PA, where fate led her to meet the love of her life, Robert Stout. Ginny also served as an administrative assistant in Charleston, WV and administrator at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Nitro, WV, where her kindness and dedication were deeply appreciated.
Ginny was a woman of many passions. She enjoyed bowling, baking, sewing, card games, and reading romance novels. However, her true second love was golf, which she pursued with a passion. She was a proud member of the Sandpiper Bay Ladies Golf Association, Piperettes at Sandpiper Bay Golf and Country Club in Sunset Beach, NC.
Ginny was preceded in death by her daughter Diane of Lodi, CA and is survived by Bobby (Jennifer) of Peoria, AZ; Marilou (Tommy) of Huntersville, NC; and Jimmy (Jana) of Clements, CA. Her legacy also lives on through her 11 grandchildren: Megan, Josh, Ryan, Lindsey, Madelyn, Cory, Colton, Logan, Mason, Brayden, and Olivia. She recently had the joy of welcoming two great-grandchildren into her heart, Chance and Sloane.
Virginia Ann "Ginny" Stout touched the lives of many with her warm heart, enduring love, and zest for life. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A memorial service to celebrate Ginny's life was a private ceremony held on 9-1-2023, at Raymer-Kepner Funeral home in Huntersville, NC. The service included Robert, Bobby, Marilou, Jimmy, and Tommy Martin. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to your favorite charity in her memory.
As we remember Ginny, let us cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she shared with us. May her spirit continue to inspire us all.
