Viola P. Mendicino, 95, of Palm Harbor, Florida passed away on October 12th, 2022.
Viola was born in Massillon, Ohio on October 26th, 1926, to the late Peter and Augustina Planinich.
Viola was a devoted wife and mother to five children. She enjoyed her time working at The Ohio State University. She initially founded and served as co-president of the Pittsburgh mothers of Twins Club. She loved painting, music, and travel.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Anthony Mendicino, nephew Peter Paul Planinich, and daughter-in-law Lori Van Kirk.
She is survived by brother Paul Planinich, her daughters Cynthia Mendicino, Margie M. Harris (Mark Harris), Marcia Pfefferle (Marc Pfefferle), and sons James Mendicino (Elisabeth Mendicino) and John Mendicino, sister-in-law Gerri Planinich, nephews Michael Planinich and Thomas Planinich, grandchildren Andrew Pfefferle, Katie Pfefferle, Payton Harris, Anthony Mendicino, Gia Mendicino, and longtime friend and caregiver Mary Gadson.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Luke Catholic Church in Palm Harbor, Florida at 2pm on November 4th, 2022. The family will receive friends for a gathering from 1:30 pm until the start of the service. Interment will be at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens in Palm Harbor following the service.
