Valerie Wright Carson

Valerie Wright Carson, 77, of New Smyrna Beach, FL entered into eternal rest on November 14, 2023.

Valerie was born in Johnstown, PA on June 13, 1946 to the late George Joseph Wright and Amelia Kozak Wright.

Valerie was a 1965 graduate of Westmont High School.  She continued on to Cambria Business College where she earned her degree in Accounting.  She worked for many years with the US Government before relocating to South Florida.  Valerie was gifted with a beautiful singing voice; from playing the part of Mother Abbess in the Sound of Music to her twice-weekly karaoke performances at her beloved Fraternal Order of Eagles.  She was a licensed pilot and motorcyclist, had a strong love for animals, and enjoyed cruising and traveling the world.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Plummer “Kit” Carson, her brother Robert Wright, and her brother Bruce Wright.

She is survived by her brother Allen Wright; wife Rilla, brother Greg Wright; wife Stephany, Uncle David Wright; wife Theresa, step-son William Carson; wife Teresa, sister-in-laws Gloria Wright and Vanessa Wright, in addition to many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Mass in her honor will be held December 16th in Johnstown, PA at St Clements Catholic Church and a private memorial service will be held at a later date in New Smyrna Beach, FL.
