TSGT Joe Lewis Pierson

TSGT, Joe Lewis Pierson, 76, of Mooresville, NC passed away Tuesday December 23, 2014 at the Gordon Hospice House. He was born October 30, 1938 in Coffee, AL to Tommie Pearson. Joe proudly served his country for 21 years in the US Air Force then worked for the Piedmont National Gas for 18 years as a service man. He was a Deacon at the Shining Light Baptist Church in Taylorsville, NC. Joe enjoyed baseball and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling, but he especially cherished the time he spent with his family. Along with his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Ferguson Pierson. Joe leaves to cherish his memory; wife, Rebecca (Becky) Pierson; children, Joseph (Joey) Pierson and his wife Janet of Huntersville, NC, Walter L. Pierson, Sr. and his wife Betty of Taylorsville, NC, Deborah Plyler of Mooresville, NC, James (Jamie) Pierson and his wife Natalie of Mooresville, NC, Charles Thomas (Tom) Pierson of Taylorsville, NC; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; his beloved pet Toby Earl; and a large extended family. The family will receive friends on Friday December 26, 2014 from 11:00-1:00 at the Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Mike Cothren officiating. Interment will follow at Northlake Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Joseph Joey, Walter, Jamie, Tom, Brandon and Walter, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Plyler, Tyler Pierson and T.J. Coppage.
