Thomas Michael Watchorn

Mr. Thomas Michael Watchorn, 64, of Cornelius, NC died Sunday November 18, 2012 at his residence. Born June 27, 1948 in Long Island, NY he was a son of the late Thomas Diamond Watchorn and Mary Amoroso Watchorn. Mr. Watchorn graduated from the University of Miami and Warden School of Business. He was CEO of Citizens Savings & Loan and South Eastern Regional President of BB&T Bank prior to his retirement in 1995. He was Founder and President of Nehemiah Ministries and Nehemiah Foundation, writer and published author of "Ministry of Correction & Reproval" and "A Time to Stand". For the last 17 years he has been a full time missionary serving in Russia, Cuba, Amazon Jungle, Ukraine, Siberia and Morocco. Mr. Watchorn enjoyed traveling and presenting the gospel to everyone he met and most importantly he loved his wife Olesya who was always by his side. He was a gifted musician and singer, enjoyed sailing, cooking, time on the lake and was an avid pool player. Funeral Services will be conducted 12:00 noon Saturday November 24, 2012 in the Chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior (11:00 to 12:00) at the funeral home. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Olesya Antonovna Watchorn; son, Thomas Christopher Watchorn of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; daughter, Christina McCormick of Lake Mary, FL; sister, Carol Kopetski and husband John; grandchildren, Thomas B. Watchorn, Sebastian, Parker and Gaston McCormick and two nephews, Michael and Christopher. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Thomas M. Watchorn, P.O. Box 1565, Cornelius, NC 28031 for a memorial fund. Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huntersville, NC is assisting the family.
