Thomas Marion Carter

Thomas Marion Carter, 91, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away April 24, 2020 at his residence.

He was born in Cartersville, Georgia on October 10, 1928 to the late Obie Carter and Alice Cupp Carter.

Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Barbara Wade Carter; daughter, Penny Auman (David); son, Craig Carter (Susan); grandchildren, Whitney Murray (Kariym), Michael Auman, Ashley Carter Harris (Dave), and Amanda Blethen; and great-grandchildren, Nasira Auman, Kariym Murray Jr, Mallory Harris, Addison Blethen, and Ellie Blethen.

Tommy was a proud U.S. Army veteran, having served in Korea and earned a medal of good conduct.  He enjoyed working the annual BBQ at Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church, cooking for the Mallard Creek Presbyterian Youth Club, and also enjoyed fishing.

A private family graveside will be held due to current circumstances.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tommy's memory to either Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church, 1600 W. Mallard Creek Church Rd, Charlotte, NC 28262; Loaves and Fishes,648 Griffith Road, Suite B,Charlotte, NC 28217; or Hospice and Palliative Care of the Charlotte Region, 7845 Little Ave, Charlotte, NC 28226.
