Theodore A. Blaney, 90, passed away in Charlotte, NC after a lengthy illness. Ted graduated from Ohio University with a degree in mechanical engineering and took early retirement from Crown Zellerbach Corporation. Ted served in the Air Force for four years during the Korean War as a control tower operator. Ted loved projects, building and designing and was always a handyman. His favorite hobbies were tennis, bowling, and bridge.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Millie Ann, two sons and their families: Dr. Ted Blaney and wife, Kathy Blaney, their children, Dr. Alexandra Blaney and husband, Robert Fanning, Conor Blaney and wife, Dr. Rebecca Blaney, and their daughter, Sydney; Craig Blaney and his daughters, Breanna Blaney and partner, Michael Ewing, Lauren Blaney and their mother, Vicki Martell Blaney. He is also survived by two sisters and three brothers.
A memorial service to celebrate Ted's life will be held Wednesday December 28, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC. A reception will follow the memorial service at the North Harbor Club, 100 N Harbor Pl, Davidson, NC 28036.
