Thelma German

Thelma Malone German, age 88, of Catawba, NC and formerly of Athens, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 07, 2017 in a Huntersville, NC hospital.

A native of Athens, she was a daughter of the late Levi and Esther Malone. She was preceded in death by two sons, Gene Foust and Bobby Plemons, and three brothers, Jerry Malone, Red Malone and Tommy Malone.

Thelma retired from Carver Chair Company.

She was loved and cherished by all and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law,

Shirley and Jim Henson of Hilton Head, SC

Billie Crabtree of Decatur

Jennifer and Richard Pitts of Lincolnton, NC

Fifteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren

Two sisters and brothers-in-law,

Patsy and J.T. Padgett of Ball Ground, GA

Lucille and Ralph Bales of Ten Mile

Several nieces and nephews

A celebration of life will be held at 11:30 am Friday, January 10, 2017, at McMinn Memory Gardens,Athens, TN with Rev. J.T. Padgett officiating. Family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends 10:00 am until 11:00 am Friday at Ziegler Funeral Home, Athens, TN.
