Talmadge Ray Taylor

Talmadge Ray Taylor, 79, of Wilmington, NC passed away September 29, 2017 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice House. Ray was born February 15, 1938 in Dunn, NC to the late Wesley and Louise Benton Taylor. He graduated from East Carolina University and attended medical courses at New York University and leadership courses at Dartmouth University. Later he became Executive Director of Government Affairs for Sandoz Pharmaceutical Industry.

Along with his parents, Ray was preceded in death by son, David Ray Taylor; brother, Earl Taylor; and sister, Geraldine Cooke.

Ray is survived by his loving family; wife, Jean A. Taylor of Wilmington, NC; son, Alex Taylor and his wife Julie Taylor of Wilmington, NC; daughter, Gigi Schweikert of Clinton, NJ; grandchildren, Ashley Schweikert of Washington, DC, Genevieve Schweikert and Marielle Schweikert of Boulder, CO, William Schweikert of Clinton, NJ and Hunter Oliver of Wilmington, NC and also his dog "Willie".

A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at the Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 11:00 am in the chapel of the funeral home with a reception to follow. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 pm at Unity Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorials be made to Alcoholics Anonymous, 5901 Wrightsville Ave, Wilmington, NC 28403 or Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
