Stuart Thomas Lyon

Mr. Stuart Thomas "Tom" Lyon, 73 of Mooresville, NC died Sunday March 25, 2012 at Olde Knox Commons. Born December 19, 1938 in Morristown, NJ he was a son of the late Oliver Crane Lyon and Elizabeth Cieslinski Lyon. Mr. Lyon was a US Army veteran, received a scholarship and attended Princeton University and completed his degree in economics at Farleigh Dickinson University. He was a lifetime member of WBCCI Club, enjoyed model railroading and traveling. He was employed as a contract negotiation programmer with IBM for thirty plus years. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, March 29 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Beverley Rutley Lyon; daughters, Caroline Lyon Edmondson and husband Michael of Hickory, NC and Charlotte Lyon Simone and husband Dan of Huntersville, five grandchildren, Drew, Isaac and Sophia Simone and Aidan and Catherine Edmondson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Lyon and brother, Oliver Lyon, Jr. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3420 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215 or the donor's choice.
