Steven Clark Willis, 60, of Huntersville, NC passed away Tuesday October 1, 2013 at Carolina Medical Center. Steven was born March 22, 1953 in Glendale, CA to Archie Ray Willis and the late Rosemary Clark Willis. Steven served in the US Air Force as an enlisted soldier, then moved to the US Army to become an officer, both active duty and National Guard. He was a former professor of Business and Computer Science at Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, NC. The last several years, Steven was a computer programmer with Moore Creative in Huntersville, NC. In his spare time, he was very active in the Charlotte Table Tennis Club and did well in several competitions. Steven was in the process of writing a book, and among his other interests were playing the viola, gardening, making beautiful wood furniture, chess, baseball, clay shooting, golfing, and reading. He loved to travel and experience new people and places. He was actively involved in the Christian church until his health declined. Afterwards, he continued with the Christian blogs Key Life and Ekklesiocity Along with his father, he leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 42 years, Janet (Jan) Cederlind Willis; daughter, Barbara Willis Wright of Huntersville, NC; brothers, John Willis and Thomas Willis; nephew, Michael Willis. A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 12, 2013 at 12:00 pm at the Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, 16901 Old Statesville Rd. Huntersville, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation 5970 Fairview Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210.
