Steven Dwayne Lawing

Steven Dwayne Lawing, 50,of Charlotte went home to be with our Lord and Savior September 16, 2012 surrounded by his family. Born January 6, 1962 in Charlotte he was a son of Ronald L. Lawing, Sr. and the late Shirley Knight Lawing McSwain. Steve was a proud Harding High graduate and worked in shipping and receiving at Muratec. He loved sports and rooted for the Tarheels and Panthers. He was a wonderful son, brother, nephew, father, husband and friend, who loved life, his family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday September 20, 2012 in the Chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Homesley officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 at the funeral home. He leaves to cherish his memory, his dad, Ron, Sr and his wife Doris; wife, Sharon; sons, Steven and Dillan; sisters, Sandra (Jay), Christy and Sonia (Mike); brothers, Ron and Gary, step-father, Charlie McSwain, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved dogs, Roscoe and Tyson. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Shirley McSwain and his favorite sister-in-law, Lori Lawing. The family wishes to thank the ICU Staff of CMC-Main who cared for Steve and served his family compassionately.
