Sonja Elaine Krummel

Sonja Elaine Bakke Krummel, age 85, of Davidson, NC died Thursday April 3, 2014 at The Pines. Born August 19, 1928 in Chicago, IL she was a daughter of the late Jens W. Bakke and Aagot Hansen Bakke. She was devoted to her family, international peace and social concerns and an avid reader. Prior to her retirement she was a school librarian at the International School of Geneva, La Chataigneraie in Founex, Switzerland. Memorial Services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday April 6, 2014 at Davidson Friends Meeting, Davidson, NC. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Wendy Ikoku (Noel) of Charlotte, Jens Krummel of New York City, NY, Sharon Krummel of Brighton, England; grandchildren, Elise, Bobby and Philip Ikoku, her twin brother, Dr. Jens Reidar Bakke (Marion) and three nieces. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl F. Krummel in 2009.
