Shirley Ross

September 15, 1926 — June 16, 2013

Shirley Gibson Ross, of Cornelius, NC passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at her home. Shirley was born in Charlotte, NC to the late Edward and Cristabel Gibson. Shirley was a homemaker. She was the beloved wife of Marion Ross for 66 years. Shirley loved her family very much and loved to travel in their motor home. She enjoyed bird watching and living on the lake and had a wonderful sense of humor. Along with her husband she leaves to cherish her memory her son; Robert "Trey" Ross, III of Charlotte, daughters; Rebecca Palmer (Gary), of Charlotte, Shirley Nash of Cornelius, grandchildren; Joel Palmer (Lauren), Evan Palmer (Pamela), great granddaughter; Caroline Palmer and two nephews. Friends will be received at 10:30 am Friday June 21, 2013 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home with the funeral service beginning at 11:30am in the Chapel of the funeral home. Friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 12:30 at the Evergreen Cemetery in Charlotte. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donors choice. Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home is assisting the family. Friends may offer condolences to the family at www.raymerfh.com.
