Shirley Jean Carlisle

Shirley Jean Carlisle, 66, of Charlotte was called to join our Heavenly Father after a relentless battle with cancer on August 10, 2011. She was born May 8, 1945 to Lewis Albert McCall and Margaret Prouty McFall in Galeton, PA. A former resident of Cabarrus County, she was a devoted Christian who has grown tremendously in her walk with God. She was an active member of Fisher St. Baptist Church and an honorary member at Gilmore Chapel AME Zion. She has touched so many with her faith. Her lifes accomplishments are shown in the hearts and soul of her family and all the people who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, Gerald Howard Payne, Sr. father, Lewis Albert McFall and great granddaughter McKenzie Aubrilee Christenbury.

She is survived by her husband of 15 years, James L. Carlisle; mother, Margaret McFall; children, Gloria & Ronald Christenbury of Charlotte; Gerald Howard Payne, Jr. of Concord; Deborah Foster Morales of NY; Delbert & Holly Foster-Paul of VA; Robert & Chris McFall and Edward McFall of PA; 18 grandchildren, Christopher Whitaker, Nikki Whitaker and Marketus Hampton, Kathy Jessica Ronald & Myia Christenbury, Elizabeth & MartinGonzalez, Devon Slaten Christenbury, Kayla, Stephanie and Lurissa Paul, Ashley & Michael Ottaviano, Seth, Anna, Steven, Katlyn McFall, Nicole McFall and siblings. Also surviving 6 great grandchildren, Anniyah, Kylee, Dameon, Hayden, Ryan and McKenzie; extended family, Robin and John Craig and longtime special friend, Earlene Parks.

The family will receive guest Saturday August 13 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday August 14 in the Chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
