Shannon Boyle Sukits, 73, of Davidson, NC passed away on April 25, 2021. She was born on April 27, 1947 to the late Edward and Susan Boyle in Pittsburg, PA.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Boyle Caldwell.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, John Sukits; daughter, Pamela Sukits Sprinkle; son, Patrick (Mary) Sukits; grandchildren, Collin, Cori, Victoria, Will, Willofae, Eleanor, Annee, Sophe, Wolffgang, and Eddie; great grandchildren, Gracie, Cohen, Sadie, Chloe, Pierson; sister, Christine Boyle (Rick) Cramer; brother-in-law, Lawrence Sukits; sister-in-law, Marie (Bob) Minsky; sister-in-law Patricia (John) Lunz; and several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Shannon graduated with a Criminal Justice degree from UNC Charlotte. She served as a legal advocate for battered women. Shannon was known for being very Irish and opinionated. Her Irish heritage was extremely important to her.
Shannon loved her home and had a talent for decorating. She loved to read and had quite the book collection; with each having its own special place. She was a very social person who enjoyed having coffee with her friends, going out to eat, and going to the movies with her husband John. She was also very creative with celebrating her wedding anniversary with John; choosing a different destination or adventure each year.
Shannon held various board positions, most recently she oversaw the book swap and loved the lunches and gatherings at Newcomers of North Mecklenburg & South Iredell.
Shannon was very involved with the Thanksgiving food drive, the Angel Tree and most recently the engraved brick campaign and the bulletin committee at St. Mark Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Shannon’s honor to St. Mark Catholic Church or Newcomers of North Mecklenburg & South Iredell.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 28, 2021 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 30, 2021 at 3:00PM at St. Mark Catholic Church located at 14740 Stumptown Rd, Huntersville, NC 28078. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Zion Community Cemetery in Cornelius, NC.
