Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth "Beth" Brown Wike, 58, of Huntersville, NC died Tuesday October 3, 2011 after a courageous three year battle with breast cancer. Born November 4, 1952 in Mecklenburg County she was a daughter of the late Thomas Craven Brown and Sarah Westmoreland Brown. Beth was a 1971 graduate of North Mecklenburg High School and a 1975 graduate of East Carolina University. She was previously employed with the Federal Reserve Bank and Mecklenburg County Hot Meals on Wheels for the Elderly Program. Her love for teaching began her career at Vance High School thirteen years ago in the Family and Consumer Science Department. She was a lifetime member of Ramah Presbyterian Church and loved animals, especially her pets, Elon and Cody whose loved helped give her the courage to keep going. Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Friday October 7 at Ramah Presbyterian Church with Rev. Phil Hargrove officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. A loving and supportive mother, sister and friend, she leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Donna Wike of Huntersville, sisters, Karen Brown Gonzoalez and husband Chuck of Brookeville, Maryland and Cindy Lindsay and husband Doug Lewis of Huntersville; nieces, Jessica Lindsay Casavecchia and husband Matt and Kristen Ashley Gonzoalez and mother-in-law, Mary Lou Wike of Lewisville, NC In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Jason Wike.
