Sarah Howie Sigmon

Sarah Lee Howie Sigmon, 83, of Denver, North Carolina passed away January 25, 2024 at her residence.

She was born on June 16, 1940 in Gaston County to the late Walter Howie and Edna Mullins Howie. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.

Sarah is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert Sigmon; daughters, Carmen Sigmon of Denver, NC; and Dena Yantz (Steven) of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Robert Yantz (Candice) of Aberdeen, MD and Samantha (Frankie) Sherrod of Lubbock, TX; and great-grandchild, Charleston Yantz of  Aberdeen MD.

Sarah was an artistic soul who enjoyed painting and crafts. She also loved her dogs, the beach, playing cards, and working puzzles of any kind. Above all she cherished her family and her greatest joy was her great-grandchild, Charleston.

Visitation will be held at 1:30 pm, Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Salem United Methodist Church, Denver. Funeral services will follow immediately at 2:00 pm at the church and interment will take place afterward in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Sarah's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
