Sandra Hartman Merrell

Sandra Hartman “Sandi” Merrell, born to Walter and “Poe” Louise Hartman on September 21, 1963, passed away quietly at home, after a long-term illness, on the morning of April 11, 2016.

Sandi was a homemaker, devoted to her family, and a light to all she met. Sandi loved her family, reading, NASCAR, and her pets.

Sandi was survived by two sons, “Drew” Ted Andrew Merrell II and Kevin Lee Merrell, and one daughter, Connie Marie Merrell; she is also survived by her mother, Poe Hartman; two sisters, Carol Carroll and husband Terry Carroll, and Cindy Meckola and husband Jeffrey Meckola; several nieces and nephews, Michael Hartman, Scott Carroll, Jordan Meckola, Alaina Carroll, Jesse Meckola, Amber Puckett Davis, Kayla Merrell Sinclair, Jake Merrell, and Savannah Self; she also survived by Ted Andrew Merrell.

Preceding Sandi in death are her father, Walter Hartman, sister, Cathy Hartman, and mother-in-law, Marie Self.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, 16901 Old Statesville Rd, Huntesville, NC 28078. The visitation and receiving will be from 1:00 – 2:00 pm prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Foundation.
