Sandra McKay Jordan, who passed away on May 22, 2024, at the age of 78, leaves behind a legacy of kindness and love that will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her. Born on May 30, 1945, in Newell, NC to the late Fred and Grace McKay, Sandra's life was a testament to the beauty of a compassionate soul and a deep family bond.
Sandra had an unparalleled love for her family. Her late husband, Larry Jordan shared 52 wonderful years together. Together they created a loving home filled with laughter and joy. Sandra is survived by her daughter Sherry Jordan-Carias and her husband Phillip, her son Larry Glenn Jordan II, who brought immense pride and happiness into her life.
Among those blessed by Sandra's presence are also her granddaughter Kelley Clayton, great-granddaughter Maya Rose Zayas, as well as Brooke Vallhonrat and husband Xavier, Laila and Aiyana. Sandra's love extended beyond her immediate family to her two late brothers, Oren McKay and Danny McKay.
Sandra's kind heart was evident in every aspect of her life. She found solace in the simple pleasures: tending to her beloved flowers, spending quiet moments on the front porch watching birds with her family by her side. Cooking brought her immense joy, and she could often could be found immersed in a good book for hours on end without interruption. Her favorite indulgences included butter pecan ice cream and savoring a delicious hamburger.
The services to honor and celebrate Sandra's life will be held at Raymer - Kepner Funeral Home (Huntersville) on May 28, 2024. A visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM to commemorate the beautiful life lived by Sandra McKay Jordan. A burial at Charlotte Memorial Gardens will immediately follow the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Via Hospice of Lincoln County or Alzheimer's Association.
