Samuel Duckett Elliott, 68, of Denver, NC, passed away on July 26, 2021. Sam was born in High Point, NC on March 11, 1953 to the late Charles S. Elliott and Lourene “Sammie” Elliott.
Sam grew up in Lynchburg, VA and graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill. After a career in Project Management with Xerox Corporation, he retired in 2020.
Sam’s first love was his family. He loved nothing more than travels with the FamJam and felt such pride in his two daughters, their husbands and the lives they were building. Time as a granddaddy was short but loving his triplets and knowing another grandson was on the way made his heart full. Behind family falls all things Tarheel, The Eno River, Lake Norman, his fur-fellas Benny and Colby, all hikes and great beer, especially his carefully crafted home brews.
He felt promise in his life with Suzanne, year 42, in their new home in Denver where he’d made many new friends and felt excitement for their future. Sam’s time was cut short but his imprint on so many lives is forever.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Thayer Elliott; his daughters Ashley and husband Jake; daughter Molly and husband Chip; brother Chuck and wife Jenny; sister Dorrie and husband David; many nieces and nephews; and grandchildren Sam, Bennett, Charley, and Baby Boy Sanchez arriving this winter.
A private memorial service will be held for family Friday, July 30, 2021 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC.
Memorial Donations in his name may be made to The Eno River Association (https://www.enoriver.org/donate/)
