Sally Walker

Sally Wentz Walker, 78, of Mint Hill passed away Friday December 29, 2023 at home in Hospice care. Born in Charlotte, NC she was the daughter of the late Wilson and Ethel Davis Wentz.  She is preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Norman Leo Walker of Charlotte.

Sally was an active member of the Blair Road Methodist Church for over forty years and served on numerous church committees as part of the Methodist Women.  Sally was a graduate of East Mecklenburg High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  She worked at Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance and affiliates for many years until her retirement.  She spent her free time gardening, sewing, cooking and volunteering at church.  

She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Walker Kerber and Cindy's husband Jay Kerber of Cornelius and Julie Walker of Monroe.  She is also survived by four grandchildren: Whitney Kerber, Jett Kerber, Alyssa Kennedy and Brayden Kennedy. She also leaves behind two sisters:  Rebecca Wentz Turner of Fountain Inn SC and Jane Wentz Widenhouse of Cornelius along with several nieces.
