Ruth Mae Morton Smith

Ruth Mae Morton Smith, 86, of Mooresville, NC passed away January 22, 2016. Ruth was born November 2, 1929 in Monroe, NC to the late Ruben Articline Morton and Dessie Lee Pate Morton. She was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, gardening and reading spiritual books. Along with her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Ned Smith in 2011.

Ruth is survived by her loving family; sons, Russell Smith (Tyanne) of Troutman, William Bruce Smith (Ronda) of Mooresville; grandchildren, Jonathan, Megan, David, Benjamin, Shelley; brother, James Barney Morton; sisters, Mabel Hinson Griffin, Betty Jo Crowell; several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 1– 2 pm at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow at Huntersville Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
