After 98 years, Ruth Constance Hotuj went to her eternal rest to be with her Lord and receive her heavenly reward on July 7, 2023. Ruth came into the world on May 11, 1925 to the late Gladys and Anthony Padovano and grew up in Harrison, New Jersey. Ruth attended Holy Cross School earning her Commercial Certificate. She married Chester Hotuj, who preceded her in death 1981 . Ruth’s brothers, Alan and Frederick also preceded her in death.
Formerly a resident of Harrison, NJ for 51 years and of Somerset, NJ for 32 years Ruth relocated to Concord, NC to be with her family and loved ones.
Throughout her life Ruth put all her love, energy and support into her family. She deeply loved every single one of them. Her two daughters, Gladys Grip and Linda Caputo stood out as the greatest source of pride for Ruth and Chet.
As the beloved mother of Gladys Grip (Warren) and Linda Caputo (Ken). She is also the beloved grandmother of four Grandchildren; Nicole Doiel, Justin Grip, Jason Caputo and Michael Caputo as well as her beloved Great Grandmother who had six great grandchildren; Jason Patrick Caputo, Alex Grip, Kristina Caputo, Mason Grip, Ava and Madison Doiel.
Ruth worked hard her entire life in a number of manufacturing positions at Tingley Rubber Products, Westinghouse, and RCA. She continued to work well into her 80s when she found a satisfying opportunity in the local school district involved in the school lunch programs.
Throughout her life she could always be counted on to support all the children in the family. For any and all sport contests, school plays, recitals and every event she could possibly attend to encourage kids who deeply loved her.
Reading, card playing, bingo, sequence and preparing fabulous Holiday meals were passions of hers. Ruth also loved her sports. Fall aways meant watching her Carolina Panthers play. And the Charlotte Hornets were her favorite basketball team.
As a devoutly religious person she volunteered in outreach programs at St. Mark Catholic Church in Huntersville. To help spread the word of God throughout the world she hand crafted hundreds of rosaries that were sent to missions across the globe.
