Mrs. Ruth Pasour Gryder, 94, of Cornelius, NC died November 13, 2010. Born September 26, 1916 she was the daughter of the late Minnie Maxwell Pasour and David R. Pasour. Ruth was the youngest daughter of a confederate veteran in Gaston County. Her father was a confederate soldier losing his arm at the Battle of Cedar Run in Virginia on August 9, 1862. She is survived by her son Dennis W. Gryder and wife Beckie of Ft. Myers, Fla, granddaughters, Stephanie Triandiflou of Cary, NC, Heather Hummel of Ft. Myers, five great grandchildren and sister-in-law and companion, Mrs. Mano Fincannon. Also surviving are her step-daughter, Kay Baron, step granddaughters, Danielle Baron and Michelle Baron-Girald, three step great grandchildren all of Puerto Rico, and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Theodore Gryder in 2005 and her siblings. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday November 16, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Cornelius, NC. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 100, Cornelius, NC 28031 or Levine & Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078. Ruth was a loving and kind person who was known to have never uttered an ill word and lived her life in Christ Jesus.
