Ruth Elizabeth Dellinger Howie

Ruth Dellinger Howie, 85, of Stanley, NC passed away peacefully at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, on January 29, 2016. She was born November 21, 1930 in Lowesville, NC, Lincoln County. Mrs. Howie is survived by her brother, Freddie Dellinger and his wife Jessie. Also surviving are grandchildren, Kevin Rhyne, Danny Binkley and Heather DePietro, six great grandchildren, two nieces, one nephew and five step-children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Essie Dellinger, her husband Calvin Lee Howie, two sisters and her daughter Teresa Barkley.

Mrs. Howie was a member of Hills Chapel United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and also worked as a daycare provider until her retirement. She enjoyed reading, working puzzles, sewing, playing cards and most of all being with her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC with Pastor Jason Collins officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hills Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Stanley, NC.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hills Chapel UMC Cemetery Fund, 988 South Hwy 16, Stanley, NC 28164 or Levine & Dickson Hospice, 11900 Vanstory Dr. Huntersville, NC 28078.
