Rosie Johnson

Rosie Lee Johnson, 98, of Davidson, NC passed away on May 14, 2016 in Mooresville, NC. She was born in Davidson, NC on March 5, 1918 to the late Charles M. Johnson and Carrie E. Winecoff Johnson.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her siblings, Mary, Annie, James, Lewis, Susie, George, Kenneth “Shorty”, and Melvin.

She is survived by her son Jimmy Sherrill and his wife Doris; grandson, Steven Sherrill and his wife Lee; grandson, Allen Sherrill and his many pets; great-grandchildren, Maudie, Esmee; and sister, Ruth Ervin.

Rosie was born, raised and lived in her home in Davidson for 94 years. Throughout those years she was a caretaker to many family members. She enjoyed working in her yard planting flowers, vegetable gardens, and canning. She was an active member in the Shearer Presbyterian Church. Rosie enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, taking long walks in the woods, and teaching them to drive in the barn yard.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Shearer Presbyterian Church, Mooresville, NC. A visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 pm prior to the service. She will be laid to rest following the service in the church cemetery.
