Rosemary Augusta Johnson

September 27, 1939 — February 28, 2025

Rosemary Augusta (Faykosh) Johnson, age 85, of Cornelius, NC, formerly of Ford City, PA, passed away at her home on February 28, 2025. Rosemary was born in Ford City to Natalie (Cieply) and Lawrence Faykosh on September 27, 1939. She was a 1957 graduate and the first female class president of Ford City High School. 

Rosemary met the love of her life, Daryl Johnson, when she lived across from the high school where he was a teacher and football coach at the time. They married on October 15, 1960, and were blessed with seven children and 64 happy years together. 

Left to forever honor her memory are her husband, Daryl; daughter Natalie (Bob) Graziani, sons Michael Johnson, Gregory (Melissa) Johnson, Kurt (Darci) Johnson, Stephen Johnson, Jonathan (Shane) Johnson, daughter Mary (Doug) Morganstern; grandchildren Vanessa (Craig) Berich, Connor (Nicole) Cole, Ian Cole, Julia Johnson, Mac Johnson, Catherine Johnson, Paulina Johnson, Isabel Johnson, Henry Johnson, Evelyn Morganstern; great grandchildren Brooks, Cooper, and Grant Berich; sister Candace Lias, brother Mark (Beth) Faykosh and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter Julie Ann. 

Rosemary was a kind, generous woman of deep faith. She was a eucharistic minister and member of the St Lawrence Altar Rosary Society in Cadogan, a parishioner at St Mark in Huntersville, NC, member and past president of the Kittanning-Ford City Junior Women's Club, enthusiastic volunteer at HAVIN, Peace Links, board member of Children and Youth Services and founding member of the St. Vincent de Paul thrift shop. She sang in the Armstrong County Community Choir and played in ladies golf league at Lenape Heights. She and Daryl were host parents to several exchange students and were very involved in youth hockey. They were long time Pittsburgh Penguins, Pittsburgh Pirates, Pitt basketball, and Civic Light Opera season ticket holders. An avid reader with a love for learning, she had an extensive book and recipe collection. Rosemary was a fabulous cook, loved gardening, family holiday celebrations, and beach trips. 

A private service was held on Monday, March 3 in Huntersville, NC.
