Roger Clemons

February 17, 1947 — February 3, 2017

Roger Dale Clemons, 69, of Huntersville, NC passed away Friday, February 3 after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.

Roger was born on February 17, 1947, in Oakvale, WV to the late Emmett and Mary Clemons. He moved his family to the Asheville, NC area during the 1980’s where he enjoyed a career making cultured marble for a home interior company. 

He was a member of Grace Covenant Church in Cornelius, NC and enjoyed serving in different areas including being an usher and serving with Room In the Inn. Roger also enjoyed cooking southern food that his wife taught him, attending southern gospel concerts, spending time with his friends from Westport Baptist Church, and NASCAR racing.

He also enjoyed the lights of his life, his nieces and nephews, Zachary, Seth, Mariah, & Livia Cox.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Rae Clemons, son Roger Allen Clemons, parents Emmett & Mary Clemons, step-mother Doris Clemons, two sisters Mary and Betty Walker, and two sisters-in-law Nancy Vest and Patricia Johnson.

He is survived by his daughter Cynthia Rae Clemons of Cornelius, brothers Clarence, Griffin, Randall, and Will Clemons of West Virginia, and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Friday, February 10 at Grace Covenant Church in Cornelius at 11am with family receiving visitors at 10am.

The family wishes to thank the following for their support during the last three months: our family, our friends, Grace Covenant Church, Pastor Farrell Lemings, Robin Lambe, Westport Baptist Church, Joe Gibbs Racing, Dr. Timothy Kuo, and the Levine & Dickson Hospice House.
