Mooresville - Robert Earl "Bob" League passed away Thursday morning, December 4, 2014, at Genesis Mooresville Center. Bob was born October 24, 1930 in Coalwood, WV to the late Kermit Rush League and the late Eva Mae Green League. He was a hospital corpsman in the US Navy, serving at the US Naval Academy and with the Marine Corps during atomic bomb testing at Yucca Flat. He had a successful career in commercial credit with Barclays American Corp., Guardian Fidelity, and Western Auto Supply Company. He was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, Cornelius, NC. Graveside Services will be private at Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Ann Knox League, daughters, Deborah Brown (Boyce) of Spartanburg, SC, Karen Morgan (Richard) of Hanahan, SC, and Peggy Beard (Roddey) of Shaker Heights, OH, stepchildren, Jerry Morrow (Lory) of Lexington, NC, Laura Richardson (Dean) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Mark Morrow of West Palm Beach, FL, and Cathy Morrow of Houston, TX. He is also survived by a brother, James League (Charlotte) of Fort Mill, SC and grandsons, David Beard, Rush Beard and Alec Richardson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Theodore League, sisters, Eloise Gentry and Gaye McMillon, and his granddaughter Kellie Evans. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, 19920 Bethel Church Road, Cornelius NC 28031.
