Robert (Bob) Jay Keating passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 21, 2023. Bob was born in The Bronx, New York on December 24, 1945 to Hilary and Joyce (Lawrence) Keating. Bob joined the United States Army and served as a Paratrooper in Vietnam. After serving our country, Bob joined the White Plains, New York Police Department and served for 20 years as a patrolman and mounted officer.
After retiring from the police department, Bob worked at a machine shop working on engines and building his own dragster which he raced for several years. Bob went back into law enforcement and served a truant officer for the Town of Harrison, NY.
In 2002, Bob and his wife, Lynn Della Rocco Keating, moved to the Lake Murray region of South Carolina and then finally settled in Davidson, N.C in 2013.
Bob had many passions in life. He enjoyed golf, drag racing, training and showing horses, tournament bass fishing, competition pistol and trap shooting and woodworking.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Hilary and Joyce Keating, and sister, Christine Keating. His loving wife Lynn Keating of 31 years, his sister, Nora Lilly, and his Aunt who raised him, Therese Keating Churchill, survives Bob as well as his niece Christina and nephews Michael, Lucas, John, Joseph and Nick.

A Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 7, 2023 at St. Mark Catholic Church in Huntersville, with Military Honors.
