Robert Hurley Davis, Jr

Robert "Bob" Hurley Davis, Jr age 83 of Mooresville, NC died Monday June 16, 2014 at Carolinas Specialty Hospital. Born June 6, 1931 in Winston Salem, NC he was the son of the late Robert H. Davis Sr and Effie Lucille Cohn Davis. Bob lived in Falls Church, VA, Arlington, VA and Charlotte prior to relocating to Mooresville. He was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War, the owner of Lake Norman Painting Co for 18 years and a supervisor with Lucent Technologies for 32 years. He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, a member of Derita Lodge 0715, a 32 degree A&A Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, SJ, VSA, and Oasis Shriners in Charlotte, NC. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday June 18, 2014 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the Church. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Linda Kay Davis, daughter, Mary Kathryn Mayhew and husband Everett Clay Mayhew of Cornelius, NC; grandson, Brandon Clay Mayhew of Cornelius; daughter, Belinda Carol Henderson of Charlotte; grandchildren and great grandchildren of Charlotte.
