Robert "Bob" Ernest Mutzl

Robert “Bob” Ernest Mutzl, 77, of Huntersville, passed away on December 28, 2019.

He was born on October 16, 1942 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Otto Mutzl and Louise Plott Mutzl.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Janet E. Mutzl; son, Robert Mutzl, Jr. and his wife, MaryAnne; daughter, Alisa Thompson and husband Darin; grandchildren, Ty Thompson, Sydney Mutzl, R.J. Mutzl, Canyon Mutzl, Kylee Thompson, Hunter Mutzl; sister, Linda Blevins and her husband Jim; and his two dogs, Ollie and Yoshi.

Bob was a graduate of Purdue University and was a proud member of the Purdue Drill Team.  He was a dedicated sales and marketing professional who was acknowledged by many he worked with as kind and encouraging.  Even after retirement, he continued as a consultant in the Marketing industry as a partner at Suncoast Marketing Partners and also enjoyed staying involved in the business world as a sales merchandiser.  Bob was an inspiration to many and could always be counted on for words of wisdom.  He was known for detailed planning and as the “go to” guy for fun plans.  Bob enjoyed many years aboard his boat “Stock Options” as a part of the Hull Raisers Boat Club in Tierra Verde, FL.  Capt’n Bob was always at home on the Intercoastal Waterways in Florida. Seven years ago, he and his wife relocated to North Carolina where he relished his role as “Papa” to his grandkids and enjoyed spending his time supporting their many activities.  

A funeral service for Bob will be held Sunday, January 12, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home Chapel in Huntersville, NC.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 pm prior to the service.
