Robert "Bob" Herndon Garrison

Robert “Bob” Herndon Garrison “Poppy”, 90, of Charlotte, NC went to his heavenly home on September 12, 2016. He was born on January 20, 1976 in Charlotte to Angelum Selborn Garrison and Malvina Commack Withers Garrison.

Robert was a retired food salesman. He was a charter member of the Mallard Creek Volunteer Fire Dept. He loved his wife, his family and his dog Peanut. He was also a deacon at Mallard Creek and Prosperity Presbyterian Church’s. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, the fire dept, traveling and camping. He also made a mean pecan pie.

Along with his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Carlene Guyton Garrison “Polly” in 1994 and 4 brothers. He is survived by his son, Alan Garrison (Terri) of Charlotte; daughters, Linda Daniel (Tim), of Charlotte and Robin Morrison of Newton; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 11:00 am at Prosperity Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bruce Brown officiating. The family will receive friends at the church, one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or Hospice of Lake Norman, 705 Griffith St. Davidson, NC 28036.
