Rita Alexander Washam

Rita Alexander Washam, 91, passed away on January 21, 2019 at Atrium in Charlotte, NC. She was born January 19, 1928 to the late Charles and Laura Alexander in Concord, NC.

Along with her parents, Rita is preceded in death by two husbands, Henry Elbert Brown and Billy P. Washam and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by sons Henry Stephen Brown, Donald Elbert Brown, Robert Vance Washam, and Billy Mark Washam; daughter Carol Ann Washam Dunn; one sister, Betty Sue; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Rita loved her family. She enjoyed crafts, playing cards, and cooking.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 1:00PM at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Cornelius, NC.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Rita’s honor.
