Rex David Tench

Mr. Rex David Tench, 72, of Stanley, NC died Friday February 1, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born December 6, 1940 in Mecklenburg County he was a son of Hazeline Hubbard Tench of Gastonia formerly of Charlotte and the late Rex Marsh Tench. Mr. Tench was an active member of Salem United Methodist Church, a retired Insurance Adjuster from Harleysville Insurance and T.M. Mayfield Co. He was a member and former Chief of the East Lincoln Fire Dept, later a member of the Board of Directors and an Honorary Lifetime Member. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday February 3, 2013 at Salem United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 51 years, Carol Jetton Tench; son, Timothy Tench and wife Rhonda of Stanley, NC; brother, Gary Tench and wife Carol Ann of Denver, NC; grandson Cody Tench and wife Alysha of Lincolnton, NC; granddaughter, Kelly Tench of Stanley, NC; niece, Tiffany Kolbay and great niece Campbell Kolbay The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Kimberly McCrae and staff at Presbyterian Pulmonary, Dr. Christian Wolff and the Hospice of Lincoln County.
