Regena “Jeanee” Mae Durham Kuhl, 79, of Greensboro and Cornelius, NC, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Saturday September 14, 2024 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House, Huntersville, NC, after a long battle with dementia.

Born and raised in Pinch, West Virginia, Jeanee attended West Virginia University where she met her husband of almost 51 years. Jeanee worked as a demonstration artist in the Fairfax, Virginia area after graduating from college with her Home Economics degree. Jeanee valued family above all else, and left the workforce in 1972 to raise her two children.

Jeanee was a caring soul throughout her life. She dedicated her life to raising her children, supporting them in every endeavor, and gleefully enjoyed her role as a grandmother. She was a seamstress, making most of her own clothes throughout her life, and a true craft enthusiast. Jeanee pursued a life long dream to visit all 50 States with her husband, Neil. They had successfully visited all 48 contiguous States together prior to his passing in 2018. She cherished her garden, loved to stop and photograph old barns, and could not pass up a Krispy Kreme doughnut. Jeanee loved the mountains, music, a good puzzle, laughter, and especially an evening drive on a country road. She was a devoted wife and wonderful mother.

Jeanee was preceded in death by her wonderful parents; Luther and Leona (Young) Durham; her older sister, Kathy Dunn; her angel grandson, Reed Kuhl, and her best friend and beloved husband, Edward “Neil” Kuhl.

Jeanee is survived by her loving family; son, Brian Kuhl and his wife Heather of Davidson; daughter, Amy (Kuhl) Young and her husband Michael of Davidson; and four wonderful grandchildren, Evan, Ainsley, Piper and Grant. Jeanee is also survived by her twin brother, Roger Durham, and her younger sister, Joy Krushinski. The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude for the staff at Levine & Dickson Hospice House.

The family will hold a private memorial in Davidson, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Levine & Dickson Huntersville Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Dr., Huntersville, NC 28078.
