Peggy Cusick

Peggy Abell Cusick, 59, of Denver, NC passed away peacefully Tuesday January 29, 2013 at her home. Peggy was born August 20, 1953 in Cleveland , OH to Dorothea (Dottie) Montgomery Abell and the late John (Jack) Abell. Peggy is a graduate of West Geauga High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Ashland College, Oh. Peggy used her accounting skills at Cohen & Company CPA firm in Cleveland, OH and Matthews, Gallovic & Granito CPA firm in Mentor, OH. She became a Certified Financial Planner and started her own personal financial planning and tax preparation business. Peggy had also been the Treasurer for Mentor United Methodist Church and Hope Ridge United Methodist Church over the years. She was the Fiscal Officer and Cemetery Sexton for Concord Township, OH for thirteen years before she moved to North Carolina in 2009. Peggy enjoyed walking her dog Guinness through the neighborhood and spending time with friends and family. In addition to her mother,Peggy is survived by her loving family husband, David Cusick; son, Kyle Cusick of Greenville, SC; daughter, Carly Cusick of Charlotte, NC; brothers, Scott (Susan) Abell, Jack (Mary Ellen) Abell; brother-in-law, Glenn (Kathy) Cusick; nephews, David (Danielle) Cusick, Glenn (Rachael) Cusick, Erik (Becky) Abell, Mark (Allison) Abell, Patrick Abell, Rob (Suzie) Mapes; niece, Kelly (Brendan) O'Shea, four grandnieces and three grandnephews. Along with her father, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Cindy Abell, father-in-law Robert D. Cusick (former Mayor of Brooklyn Hts., OH),and mother-in-law Martha (Madge) Cusick. A service celebrating Peggy's life will be held on Saturday February 23, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at Hope Ridge United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 4:00 p.m. A reception will follow the service.
