Paul Joseph Murphy

August 31, 1929 — April 14, 2017

Paul Joseph Murphy, 87, recently of Huntersville, NC, passed away Friday, April 14, 2017 at Olde Knox Commons, Huntersville, NC. Paul was born August 31, 1929 in Hubbard, OH to the late Richard and Mary Newell Murphy. Paul served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and went on to graduate from the Ohio State University in 1958. He spent his entire career in the steel industry in many positions and retired as a superintendent in Canton, Ohio in 1993. After retirement, Paul moved to Sebastian, Florida where his favorite activity was having his coffee on his patio while enjoying the morning sunshine. Paul loved his family, and watching his grandsons play sports. He enjoyed golf, classical music, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and watching political talk shows.

Paul is survived by his loving family; wife, Z. Corinne Full Murphy; sons, Patrick Paul Murphy (Lyn) of Canal Fulton, OH, Sean Newell Murphy of Huntersville, NC, Timothy Clay Murphy of Fairlawn, OH, Martin Todd Murphy (Lisa) of Huntersville, NC; granddaughter, Laura Kraus Brown (David); grandsons, Nicholas and Noah Murphy; and great-grandson, Ryan Brown.
